Andrei Acris was born on May 27, 1983 in Cluj-Napoca, Romania. He grew up in Romania until the age of 9. In 1992 his family moved to Montreal, Canada, and he began painting two years later at the age of 11. In 1997 his family moved to Raleigh, North Carolina.

From 2001 to 2003 Andrei was very active in the Raleigh art community, participating in numerous exhibitions, having one-man and two-man shows. In the Raleigh area he has been featured in "The Cary News" and "Metro" magazine.

In April of 2005 his first exhibition opened in Montreal, followed in May by his first one in New York. In December 2005 his second exhibition in New York opened. He has also been featured in “Voir” magazine in Montreal and in “ArtisSpectrum” magazine in New York.
